If your battery doesn't hold a charge, connect it to the charger. If it's not fully charged within 8 hours, your lawn mower battery is dead and you need to replace it.

If your battery is fully charged, the charge should not run out if not in use. Troubleshoot ongoing issues by using a multifunction tester to see if your battery drains when not in use. If it retains the charge during the test, you may have a problem with the alternator.
